According to experts, iOS10 is serviced by SHA256, an old version of cryptographic hash functions devised to make it more difficult for the third-party programming to guess the user's password. iOS9 is using SHA-1, which is a much better defence against possible hacker attacks. So far, Apple has made no comment on the alleged issue.
